He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Carpenter and Lorraine "Rae" Carpenter (Holtan); his brother-in-law Samuel Katzmarek; and also, Raymond and Kathleen Katzmarek.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Katzmarek; his daughters, Paige Dittberner (Aaron), Alexis Carpenter (Matt Brown) and Tayler Carpenter (Ben Ranallo); his sister Lori Folie (Todd); his stepchildren, Jennifer Graves (Jed), Chris Kuras (Jen) and Nicholas Kuras (Lynsee); his grandchildren, Harper, Cora, Sam, Austin, Madison, Aurora, Jaxon, Solveig, Trygve, Kelsey, Kaylee and Grace; and his nephew Dane Folie (Matt Ostby).
