She was predeceased by: her parents, Mathew Decker and Theresia Decker (Rausch); her husband Gerald Thomes; her granddaughter Courtney Schmitz; her great grandchild William Schmitz; her sons-in-law, Greg Grange, Oral Brenno and Rick Giles; and her siblings, Mary Decker, Rita Schlangen, Genevieve Schmitz, Dolores Schriefels, Rosie Theis, Sylvester, Raymond, Wilfred, Jerome, Ernest, Anton, Edwin and Richard.
She is survived by: her children, Lindalee Grange of Cold Spring, Kevin Schmitz (Sharon) of Richmond, Jim Schmitz (Darcy) of Paynesville, Wayne Schmitz (Joan) of Rice, Terri Braegelmann (Paul) of Cold Spring, Janet Giles (Jeff Doll) of Richmond and Tamara Abers (Dan) of Rice; and her sister Barbara Schmitz. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
