He is survived by: his wife Sharon Burgess of Cosmos, MN; his children, Bret Burgess (Theresa) of Caledonia, MI, Broc Burgess (Joelle) of Charlotte, MI, Tami Nelson (Travis) of Hutchinson, MN, Beth Imbuzeiro (Vitor) of Northville, MI and Ridge Burgess (Stefanie) of Willmar, MN; his grandchildren, Lauren Kooistra (Bretton), Brady Smith, Alex (Hope), Ashley Nelson (Connor), Laryssa, Juliana, Nate Imbuzeiro, Ellie, Mason (Ava) and Evan Burgess; and his great grandchildren, Westlynn, Callum Kooistra, Cat and Krissy Kringle.
