He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Zimmerman; his parents, Edward Zimmerman and Nona Zimmerman; his sister Virginia "Sue" Zimmerman; his stepsons, Dale and Richard Sirek; and his grandson Daniel Bettis.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Zimmerman (Grace) and Kari Zimmerman (Greg Karan); his stepdaughters, Tami McNamara (Dale) and Kelly Sirek; his sister Betty Bartholomew; his brother-in-law Rick Bartholomew; his grandson Connor Darlow; and his pet Josie. He is also survived by several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (1000 Portland Ave, St Paul Park, MN 55071). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Newport Cemetery (220 Hastings Ave, Newport, MN 55055). A reception will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the St. Andrew's Lutheran Church (1000 Portland Ave, St Paul Park, MN 55071).
