It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan I. Aker in Crookston, Minnesota, who passed away on June 30, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan I. Aker to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Cooper and Bernice Cooper; and her brothers, Roger, Rodney and Tim.
She is survived by: her husband Lowell Arnold Aker; her daughters, Julie Richardson (Gordy) and Susan Pederson (Jim); her grandchildren, Sean Calhoun (Sandra), Elizabeth Fleming (Robert) and Zachary Pederson (Amanda); and her great grandchildren, Vaughn Calhoun, Everett Fleming, Wesley Fleming, Astrid Fleming, Archer Pederson and Brody Pederson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request any remembrances in honor of Joan be directed to Sanford Hospice House in north Fargo.
