He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Running and Dorothy Running (Fritz); his sister Jackie Huls; and his niece Shawn Irvine. He is survived by: his wife Judy Iverson; his sons, Joel Running (Lois) and Todd Running (Michele); his grandchildren, Lee Running (Julia) and Brodie Running; his great-nephew Zachary Irvine (Alison); and also, Hemi and Sparrow.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Crosslake Library.
