He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Hansel and Ruth Hansel (Halverson); and his sister Jean Lillemeon. He is survived by : his wife Karen Miest; his children, Nicole Hansel-Welch (Aric), Blaine Hansel (Stacy) and Suzanne Hansel (Doug Byrnes); his grandchildren, Chase, Ethan Hansel, Kai and Lyla Welch; and his sister Jana Knutson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
