She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Schwartz and Agnes Schwartz (Craven); and her sisters, Francis Losey (Schwartz), Sharon Rodriquez, Dorothy Brown, LaRae Rodriquez (Schwartz) and Susan Rae Schwartz.
She is survived by: her children, Yvette Schlapkohl, Leah Trottier and Paul Trottier; her husband Kirk Nelson; her siblings, Beverly Longmuir, Diann Schneider, Gladys Reimers (Bill), Michelle Bader, Darlene Schwartz Ferrie and Roland (Judy Schwartz); and her grandchildren, Brianna Sazama (Joey), Caitlin Shoutz, Aaron Yanish, Preston Capes (Cassi), John Capes and Rhylee Capes.
