He is survived by: his wife Carol Ashburn; his children, Jean Hanson (Brad), Randy Simmonds (Michelle) and Alan Simmonds (Janelle); his daughter-in-law Melanie Simmonds; his grandchildren, Natasha Hagen (Brody), Brent Hanson (Chelsey), Adam Simmonds (Tara), Andrew Simmonds, Cameron Simmonds (Caitlin), Jenna Ahlbrecht (Trevor), Mckenzie Schnitzler (Eric) and Lexie Simmonds (Brady DeHaan); and his great grandchildren, Jack Hanson, Sawyer Hanson, Joey Huston, Everett Ahlbrecht, Audrey Hanson, Sylvie Schnitzler, Caden Ahlbrecht, Maxwell Simmonds, Baker Simmonds and Zachary Simmonds.
