The family announces the passing of Shirley Jean Geiger of Deer River, Minnesota on September 15, 2026. Shirley, born on July 14, 1945, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. She was predeceased by: her parents, Isidor Mahowald and Estella Mahowald; her husband Greg Geiger; and her siblings, Rosina, Richard, Wilfred, Marvin, Isidor, Joan, MaryAnn, Donald and Alois.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Geiger (Kelly) and Mike Geiger (Molly); her grandchildren, Nic Geiger (Emma), Christian Geiger, Cameron Geiger and Callie Geiger; and her siblings, Joe Mahowald (Rosie) and Delores Reed. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shakopee VFW Post 4046 (1201 3rd Ave E, Shakopee, MN 55379).
