He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Sylvester and Helen Sylvester (Erickson); his wife Patricia Mae Lindeen; and his brothers, Donald and James Sylvester.

He is survived by: his children, Chad Sylvester (Kristine) of South Haven and Jill Martinson (Shannon) of Avon; and his brother Gary Sylvester (Sonja). He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild, as well as many other family members.
