It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Makinen Lyle of Duluth, Minnesota, who passed away on April 10, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Toivo Makinen and Verna Makinen of Keewatin, MN.; her husband James; and her grandson Michael. She is survived by: her children, ElizaBeth Lyle, Jay Lyle (Mary) and Katy Buytaert (Duane); her grandchildren, Matthew (Arianna), Natalie, Nicholas, Nathan, Sam, Aili and Will; her sisters, Linda Johnson (Paul), Barbara Babin (Peter) and Laura Hagen (Tom); and her sisters-in-law, Marcy Lyle and Gloria Lyle. She is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.
