She was predeceased by: her mother Patricia Haney. She is survived by: her father Paul Mehling; her stepparents, Karin Garvue Mehling and Dick Haney; her siblings, Kimberlee Wait (Jack) and Rian Mehling (Lisa); and her siblings' children, Karenna Wait, Valerie Norman and Donovan Wait.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Animal Allies Humane Society, a charity Julie was fond of.
