He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Bartell and Gloria Bartell (Johnson); and his former wife Natalie. He is survived by: his son Max; his wife Rachel; his siblings, Danielle Johnston (Gordon), Dayton (Machelle), Tierney (Michael Booth) and Chelsea; and his in-laws, Milt and Marilyn Hagen. He is also survived by family; many extended family members, and countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Duluth Friends of Tennis (Longview Tennis Club).
