He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Bartscher and Genevieve Bartscher; his sisters, MaryGen and Catherine Bartscher; and his son Louis Bartscher (Genevieve Bartscher).
He is survived by: his wife Molly O'Brien Bartscher; his daughters, Joy D. Bartscher, Susan Sanchez (Sam), Mary Geller (Mark), Ana Arguello and Azeb Wodajo (Felasfa); his stepson Charles A. Brost (Jessica); his son Karl R. Bartscher; and his sister Lois Shanahan. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
In place of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cretin Derham Highschool Alumni Association or The Saint Paul Monastery.
