She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy L. Ackerson and Janice C. Ackerson (Hunter); her grandparents, Ethel M. Hunter and William L. Hunter, Sr.; her aunt Dea M. Hunter; her uncle William L. Hunter, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Luke E. Love.
She is survived by: her children, Amber Lynn Ackerson, Justin Dunning and Andrew Dunning; her siblings, Tia M. Hankins (Roger), Jenny Sue Ackerson (Dan), Roy M. Ackerson (April), David L. Ackerson and Dominic S. Ackerson (Maria); and her husband Eladio Diaz. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
