He was predeceased by: his parents, William Salmela and Alma Salmela (Pajari); and his siblings, Verdie (Lorene), Raymond (Carol), Robert (Nancy), Marvin (Ardythe), Gordon (Jean), Gerald, Verna Norha (Leonard), Florence Heikkila (Neilo), Gladyce Krause (Howard), Margaret Nuutinen (August) and Elaine.
He is survived by: his parents-in-law, August and Aino Yoki; his wife Phyllis Kathleen Yoki; his daughter Anne (Ken Niven); his grandchildren, Drew and Leah; his son Aaron (Shelby); his grandchildren, Cord (Ellen), Madison and Chloe; his son Adam (Janna); his grandsons, Bryce and Ian; and his siblings-in-law, LeRoy, Beverly Yoki, Nancy, Ardythe and Jean. He is also survived by his extended family, friends, and brothers and sisters.
Thomas David Salmela, 83, of Duluth Minnesota died peacefully February 12th, 2023 at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton, MN from advanced Parkinson's Disease.
