Verna touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. While Verna’s presence will be missed, the influence she had on others will remain. Those who knew her will carry forward memories that reflect her character and spirit.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Berg and Della Van De Berg (Kroon); and her sons-in-law, Arlan Peterson and Bruce Ostrander. She is survived by: her husband Arend Sandbulte; and her children, Greg Sandbulte (Cherri), Ruth Peterson, Kristin Melby (Jeff) and Rachel Ostrander. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and many members of her extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Glen Avon Presbyterian Church (2105 Woodland Ave, Duluth, MN 55803). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
If desired, memorials are preferred to the College of St. Scholastica or Glen Avon Presbyterian Church.
