With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Kay Carlson of Duluth, Minnesota, who passed away on November 13, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Gilbertson and Vera Gilbertson; her husband Dave; her siblings, Roger, Betty and Beatrice; and her nephews, Blaine, Jimmy and Tommy.
She is survived by: her children, David (Missy), Greg (Teri), Jenny Anderson (Bruce) and Katie Kaylor (Tom); her grandchildren, Brianna, Brooke, Chloe, Mikayla, Mya, Michael, Keira, Brighton, Lila, Gunnar, Evan and Emily; her siblings, Bobby (Marilyn), Ken, Harry, Bill and Judy; and her cousin Betty Starcevic. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dougherty Funeral Home (600 E 2nd St, Duluth, MN 55805). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
