He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schmidt and Leona Schmidt; and his brother-in-law Glen James. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughter Katrina Schmidt (Bly Pope); and his sisters, Barb Hanson and Sandy Carlson (David). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Klecatsky & Sons Eagan Chapel (1580 Century Point, Eagan, MN 55121).
