She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald (Gerry); her son-in-law Michael Woxland (Mike); her siblings, Nancy and Mark; and her parents, Theodore Christian and Velva Christian.
She is survived by: her children, Angela, Jill (Marc) and John (Esta); her grandchildren, Kipp (Kate), Blake (Sarah), Brita (Henrik), John Patrick (Jaida), Max (Holly), Jessica (Tyler), Carol (Jake) and Conner (Janis); her sister Barbara Matteson; and her siblings-in-law, Michael Schwartzbauer and Verna Ratzlaff. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Deer Lake Association, a cause Joan was deeply committed to as a founding member and longtime board member.
