He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond and Patricia; his siblings, Jimmy, Mary and Theresa; his nephew Matt Ludwig; and his niece Kelly Severson.

He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Mark Swenson (Traci) and Megan Anderson (Matt); his granddaughter Grace Swenson; his siblings, Kathy Lindeman (Bruce), Daryl Swenson (Rosie), Patty Ludwig (Mike), Ellie Swenson and Colleen Woodley; his sister-in-law Joan Crowley (Pat); and his pets, Chloe and Louie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
