As David departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved David. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Appling (Spitzer) and Gerald Appling; and his sister Evelyn Horton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Appling; his children, Dawn Holmes (Brian), John Appling (Brittany) and Michael Appling (Janna); his grandchildren, Calista Appling, Mikayla Appling, Lennon Appling and Azeris Appling; and his great grandchild Christopher Busche.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dahl Funeral Home (2029 Central Ave NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721).
