He was predeceased by: his wife Roma Naomi Kallock; his granddaughter Ashley Sweeney; his brothers, Vernon "VJ" (Ruby), Duane "Duke" (Elaine) and Arlan McFarland (Esther); and his siblings' children, Lance McFarland, Diane Chwialkowski and Tammy McFarland.
He is survived by: his children, Gregg McFarland (Karen) of Katy, TX and Gull Lake, MN, Mary Jo Sweeney (Terry O'Brien) of St. Pete Beach, FL and Grand Forks, Mike McFarland (Cindy) of Alvarado, MN, Debbie Hoverson of Manvel, ND, Lisa Stanley (Mike) of Edina, MN and Leah Swanson (Dean) of Mound, MN; his grandchildren, Erin McFarland, Jill Naponic (Jock), Naomi Hansen, Heidi Wavra (Nick), Wesley Sweeney, Jared, Matthew McFarland (Tami), Megan Mathison (Nathan), Michael Hoverson (Mandy), Alyssa Hoverson Schott (Dan), Casey Hoverson (Sara), Fallon Hoverson Petsinger (Taylor), Norah Goblirsch (Dan), Lauren, Aidan, Paige Stanley, Hannah and Andrew Swanson; and his sibling's children, Bonnie Swanson, Gwen Lappegaard, Kim Ness, Brenda Qualley, Terrie Clemenson and Tim McFarland. He is also survived by 34 great-grandchildren.
