He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rubis and Gladys Rubis (Ewert); his wives, Bernice Tait and Delores Wait (Gorr); his son Michael; his son-in-law Gordie Kramer; and his stepsons, Dan, Ron (Elaine) and Gary Wait.
He is survived by: his child Shirley McCourt (Craig) of Arlington; his stepson Randy Wait of St. Cloud; his grandchildren, Roger, John, Jeremiah, Heath, Kendria, Isaiah and Noah; his great grandchild Elsie; his stepgrandchildren, Gina, Seth, Chuck and Lance; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jackson, Samuel, Zachary, Scarlet, Brandon, Carleen, Gavin, Aesa, Rawlin, Colton, Grace and Nora; his siblings, Anne Ferrell of Edina, Susan Chase (Dave) of Willmar, Bill Rubis (Rose) of Grove City and Jim Rubis (Susie) of Fairfield, IA; and his stepdaughter-in-law Patty Wait of Richmond.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (854 Stearns Ave, Eden Valley, MN 55329). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
