He is survived by: his wife Sally Thompson; his brother Dick Thompson (Judy); and his children, Tom Thompson (Janell), Carolyn Kuch (Leo), Mary Lou Gillette (Ryan) and Gene Thompson (Debbie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.
