He was predeceased by: his parents, Desmond and Cecilia. He is survived by: his wife Bette; his children, Terra Jerde, TJ Jerde (Jingxi) and Shari Aberle (Ryan); his grandchildren, Stephen Jerde (Nicole), Brandon Jerde (Bethany), Meara Aberle, Jonah Aberle and Eli Aberle; his great grandchild Elia Jerde; and his siblings, Lloyd Jerde, Susan Frederickson (Paul), David Jerde (Judy) and Ed Jerde (Maggie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Elk River Lutheran Church (729 Main St NW, Elk River, MN 55330). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider planting a tree in Duane's memory or donating to have one planted through the Arbor Day Foundation (http://www.arborday.org) as a lasting tribute to a man who deeply valued family roots, quiet growth, and the beauty of nature.
