He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Moritz and Leonora Moritz; his siblings-in-law, Dale Leider, Keith Leider, Lowell Shaffer, Ron Werner and Jeri Shaffer; Charlie and Eleanor Leider.

He is survived by: his wife Caron; his siblings, Berthold (Idell), Diane and Rozanne; his siblings-in-law, Al Leider, Myra Werner and Sue Leider; his sons, Theodore (Gretchen), Kevin (Gwen) and David (Becky); and his grandchildren, Jared, Claire, John, Adrianne, James, Elizabeth, Jaylinn, Carl, Lauren, Christopher and August. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Martin's name may be directed to Zion Lutheran School of Crown, and St John Lutheran School of Elk River.
