He was predeceased by: his wife Darlene; his parents, Robert Huss and Frances Huss (Haala); his sisters, Patricia Johnson and Christine Huss; and his sister-in-law Nancy Huss.

He is survived by: his children, Debby Santers (Marc), Julie Rock (Mike), Joseph Huss and Stacy Dixon (Lonny); his grandchildren, Jenny Santers, Morgan Dunn and Molly Dunn; his great grandchildren, Lucas and Emma; and his siblings, Shirley Ernst (Denny), Janice Anderson (Charles) and Richard Huss.
