He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Parr Davis Arends; his children, Cheryl Houser (Jim), Michael Arends (Lori), Mary Vance (Brian) and Nicholas Arends; his stepson-in-law Tony Walter; his grandchildren, Luke, Valerie, Zach (Olivia), Rachel (Spencer), Josh, Bailey, Alison, Joe, Anna, Brett, Garrett, Maddie and Adam; his great grandchildren, Becker, Everett, Evelyn, Zaylee and Teddy; his siblings, Jean Allison (Clint), Lee Arends (Kathy), Keith Arends (Terrilyn) and Lloyd Arends (Linda); and his brother-in-law Greg Parr (Amy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
