He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry Schmitz and Hazel Schmitz (Swaney); and his nieces, Kelsey Schmitz and Margaret Gartrell. He is survived by : his wife Jeanne Baranowski of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Gregory (Angie Sue) of Baldwin and Angie Bellerive (Jason) of Pepin; his grandchildren, Natasha Schmitz, Andrea Schmitz, Hannah Bellerive and Christian Schmitz; his great grandchildren, Laila Riley, Cora Riley and Althea Schmitz-Neisius; and his siblings, Kathie Nielsen, Mary Bebie (Roger) and Joseph Schmitz (Julie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
