She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev John D. Kern and Irene Kern (McPike). She is survived by: her husband Gene Behnke; her sister Marcia Hoffmeister (Jim); her children, Dave Behnke, Anna Thompson (Doug), John Behnke and Janie Hecht (Brian); and her grandchildren, Emma Thompson, Anna Hecht and Matthew Hecht.
