He was predeceased by: his parents, Lempi Maki (Hill) and Toivo Maki; his wife Joyce Kokal; and his grandson Karl Harkins. He is survived by: his cousin Chapman Street; his aunt Ellen; his children, Cheryl Anderson (Calvin), Charlene Harkins (Kenny), Robert Maki and Tracy Maki (John Dybvig); his grandchildren, Andria LaFollette, Liisa Harkins, Siri Harkins, Matthew Maki (Emily), Samantha Buerkle (Mark), Evan Dybvig and Leo Dybvig; his great grandchildren, Tate and Jack Buerkle; and his close friend Jim Maki.
