It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Scott Olson of Ely, Minnesota, who passed away on January 3, 2026, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Joe and Rosemarie Buchner; his uncles, Robert "Ropey" Buchner and David Olson; and his cousin Cody Olson.
He is survived by: his mother Margie Olson; his son Luke Olson (Jacy); his wife Angela Olson (Johnson); his daughter Lauren Olson; his brother Brian Olson; his parents-in-law, Curt Johnson and Linda Johnson; his brothers-in-law, Phil and Bryan Johnson (Marcella); his grandparents, Robert and Patricia Olson; and his godparents, Chris and Denise Norman. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
