He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Groninga and Marcella Groninga; his brother Bruce Groninga; and his grandson Tanner Groninga. He is survived by : his wife Ardis Groninga; his children, Todd Groninga (Jean), Tanya Singer (Scott) and Traci Groninga; his grandchildren, Amber Groninga, Torrie Groninga, Autumn Groninga and Zach Singer (Zoe); his great grandchild Levi Richard Singer; and his brothers, Ronald Groninga and Robert Groninga.
