He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred and Alice; and his brothers, Warren and Gerald. He is survived by : his wife Gertrude Maki (Maki); his children, Carol Szyman (Larry) of Hudson, WI, Paul Erickson of Esko, Shari Tollerud (Mark) of Cloquet and Terry Erickson (Dawn) of Duluth; his grandchildren, Zack (Angie), Nate (Emily), Josh Szyman (Andie), Jamie, Haley, Justin Erickson (Jamie), Jordan Laskowski (Mark), Ryan, Connor Tollerud (Kaitlyn), Morgan and Matthew Erickson; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Tempe, Jadon, Verity, Lucas, Mason, Jovie and Miles.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wes' honor will be directed to Teen Missions and the Cloquet Chapter #899 of the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

“Dear Gert, Carol, Paul, Shari & Terry, I want to extend my deepest sympathies to you & to your families. I am SO SORRY for the loss of your beloved husband, father & grandfather! I will remember Wes mostly for his great sense of humor, but I know he was a good, godly & wonderful man in myriad other ways as well, especially to you who knew & loved him most.
