She was predeceased by: her husband Earle Brooks; and her daughter Jocelyn. She is survived by: her children, Ricardo (Julija), Carmen (Dan) and Ned (Gudrun); her grandchildren, Brenda, Matthew, Patricia, Katie, Liz, Michael, Simon and Owen; her great grandchildren, Brooks, Carolina, Olie and Charlie; and her children-in-law, Nuria and Dave.

While at the university, she met the love of her life, Earle Brooks, at the Wesley Foundation student center.
