He was loved and cherished by many people including : his grandmother Agatha Ries; his uncles, Lawrence Ries and Jake; his aunt Marion Ries; his cousins, Barb, Jean, Sharon and Maryann; his wife Vicki of Estero, FL; his children, Kate Hogan of Groton, MA, Becky Ries of Apple Valley, MN and Bill Ries of Apple Valley, MN; his grandchildren, Nora, Elsie and William Simondet; his sister-in-law T. Irene Moore; his pets, Charlie and Max; his former life partner Nora Elizabeth Moore; his grandparents, Jean Pierre Ries and Agatha Marie Koehn; and his parent Rosalia Ries Becker. He was also cherished by his family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, American Lung Association, or Boys Town in Stan's memory.
