He was predeceased by: his parents, J. A. Sime and Helen Sime (Hoffman); his son Mark Sime; his grandson Brendan Numedahl; his brother John Sime; and his brother-in-law Marlen Bents.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Sime; his children, Jeff Sime (Janell), Nancy Struck and Todd Sime (Jennifer); and his sister-in-law June Bents. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
