Betty touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her grandmother Betty McDonald; and her parents, William Westphalen and Edna Westphalen. She is survived by: her husband Harry McDonald Jr.; her granddaughters, Leslie, Erin and Alyson; her son Daniel McDonald; her sisters, Doris Bennett and Elaine Kelberlau; her children, Lorene Rutherford (Douglas) and David McDonald (Connie Tibuni); her granddaughters, Emily Rutherford (Alexander Scheel) and Alexandra McDonald (John Campbell); her great grandchild Hazel Ferron; and her daughter-in-law Sally McDonald (Steve Ulseth).
She stayed active meeting friends for coffee, a movie or a day at the casino until age 90 when covid appeared and forced her to stay home.
Memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Wayzata Community Church.
