He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Paul, Sr. and Beulah Francis Hooton (James); his mother-in-law Rebecca Lageson; his former wife Rebecca; and his sister Janice O'Leary.

He is survived by: his wife Harriet Kisakye; his sons, Christopher Charles (Elaine) of Detroit, MI, Tory James (Annie) of Kearney, NE and Jameson David (Heather) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Ella, Foster, Isaac, Nora, Eliana and James; and his siblings, Donald Hooton (Donna), Rodney Hooton (Nancy), Duane Hooton, John Hooton (Candace) and Joy Wallace (Mike). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
