She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank W. Herda and Julia V. Herda (Malecha); her husband Bill; her siblings, Donna DeGrood (Jim) and David Herda; her daughter-in-law Monica Borwege; and her sisters-in-law, Donna Herda and Donna Knauss (Merlin).

She is survived by : her children, Kathleen LaCanne (Al) of Tempe, AZ, Barbara Anderson (Dave) of Dodge Center, MN, James Borwege (Lynn) of Otsego, MN, Donald Borwege of Faribault, Kenneth Borwege (Kelly Hein) of Faribault, Patricia Miller (Doug) of Faribault and Constance Fillipi of Burnsville, MN; her siblings, Patricia Hrabe (Myron) of New Prague, MN, Fritz Herda (Mary Ann) of Faribault, Maynard Herda (Bonnie) of New Prague, Thomas Herda of Lonsdale and Carol LeMieux (Jerry) of Faribault; and her sister-in-law Joan Herda of New Prague. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
