He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Scheffert and LaVaughn Scheffert (Janaszak); and his brother Paul Scheffert. He is survived by: his daughter Chelsea Scheffert (Garrett Gates) of Faribault; his grandsons, Aiden and Landon Gates; and his siblings, Mike Scheffert of Montgomery and Katie LaCanne (Bernie) of Montgomery. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
