He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bussert and Cecelia Bussert (Keilen); his wife Diane Wall; and his siblings, Paul Bussert (Rita), Larry Bussert (JoAnn) and Rose Johnson (Harold).

He is survived by: his sons, Michael Munoz, Richard Bussert (Jenny Shelstad) and Matt Bussert; and his brother Bill Bussert (Mary). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
