He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Sauer and Marjorie Sauer (Rogers); his sister Janet Moriarty; his son Wayne Sauer; and his granddaughter Britney Sauer.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Sauer; his children, Paul Sauer (Susan) of Eden Prairie, Margie Lindberg (Todd) of Minneapolis and David Sauer (Kris) of Faribault; his grandchildren, Joe Lindberg (Natalie), Ali Sauer, Katherine Lindberg (Revis Stephenson), Elizabeth Sauer and Caroline Sauer; and his great grandchild Boden Lindberg. He is also survived by three granddogs.
Memorials may be directed to the Faribault Foundation or River Bend Nature Center in memory of Howard.
