He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Nygaard and Adelaide Nygaard (Nash); his son Michael; his brother Jeffrey Nygaard; his grandparents, Nels, Emma Nash, Emil and Hilda Nygaard; and his siblings-in-law, Joe Krage and Carrie Krage.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Nygaard of Faribault; his daughters, April Vilmin (Kris) of Rochester, MN, Kelly Nygaard of Stillwater, MN and Brianna Nygaard (Pat Markman) of Faribault; his brother Kent Nygaard (Kate) of Grand Forks, ND; his mother-in-law Bernadette Krage; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Krage (Sara), Brian Krage (Dawn), Steve Krage (Colleen), Mark Krage (Val), Lisa Terbeest (Ted), Kristi Soland (Brent) and Laura Krage. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
