He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Fierst and Lillian Fierst (Ambroz); his wife Joyce M. Ceplecha; his grandson Lenny Schweisthal; his son-in-law Michael Anderst; his siblings, Marion Flipek (Alvin), Judy Miller (George), Joyce Kotek and Lillian Lingsweiler; and his brother-in-law Richard Shankey.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Fierst (Lisa) of Faribault, Bernice Gress of Montgomery, Charles Fierst (Cindy) of Owatonna, Bonnie Anderst (Eric Anderson) of Dodge Center and Barbi Heidemann of Farmington; his siblings, Robert Fierst, Leonard Fierst (Lulu) and Evelyn Shankey; and his brothers-in-law, John Kotek and Leonard Lingsweiler. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or an organization of the donors choice.
