It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martin B. Schmitz of Faribault, Minnesota, who passed away on March 31, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Schmitz and Veva Schmitz (Grosser); his grandson Andrew Schmitz; his sister Geraldine Vogelsberg; and his parents-in-law, James and Eula Kern.
He is survived by: his wife Barb Schmitz of Faribault; his children, Robyn Godbey (Bill) of Faribault, Rick Schmitz of Faribault and Tim "Tater" Schmitz (Jenny) of Faribault; his grandchildren, Zak Hanegraaf (Samantha), Garrett Hanegraaf, Alex Schmitz, Annika Schmitz, Emma Schmitz and Ava Schmitz; his great grandchildren, Blakely Hanegraaf, Emmerie Hanegraaf, Scarlett Hanegraaf, Asher Hanegraaf and Laiken Schmitz; and his sister Maré Moore (Gary) of St. Michael, MN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
