He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pitan and Emma Pitan (Radel); his sons, Cary Pitan and Sanford "Sandy" Pitan; and his siblings, Delbert Pitan, Melvin Pitan, Viola Schuster and Elayne Blazick.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Pitan; his children, Penny Hora (Joe), Randy Pitan (Laura) and Joleen Conrad (Michael); his daughter-in-law Diane Pitan; his grandchildren, Madison, Elizabeth, John, Jack, Ryan, Alexa, Kalie, William, Collin, Amelia, Hayden, Celia, Heather (Phil) and Adam (Nina); and his great grandchildren, Maverick, Tyler, Mason, Brie, Sawyer and Ruby Jo. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
