She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Swelland and Anna Swelland (Stueland); her husband Rev. Harry L. Peterson; her siblings, Marie (Frederick Grose), Norma (Merlin Golberg), Lincoln (Betty Swelland), Lillian (Phil Oelschlager), Marvin Swelland and Donna Mae Swelland; and her brothers-in-law, Owen Hernke and Duane Hammer.

She is survived by: her children, Vian Gredvig (Ronald), Bruce Peterson, Mary Murillo (Victor), Charles Peterson (Christie) and Steve Peterson (Alyssa); her grandchildren, Brandon Murillo (Katie), Marcus Murillo (Cydney), Jayme Daly (Cameron), Andrea Gredvig, Jacob Gredvig and Dagen Peterson; her children, Zoe Peterson and Kya Peterson; her great grandchildren, Michael Murillo, Kallie Murillo, Mya Murillo, Macy Murillo and Robin Daly; and her sisters, Dolores Hammer, Gladys Hernke and Jean Lindaman (Byron). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews she loved.
